POSITION SUMMARY (Hiring is closed for the 2023 Season. Please understand you will likely not get a response until our hiring season for 2024 beings in the Fall months of 2023)
Air Attack Captain – Pilot-in-Command on various aircraft (K100, PC-12, AC90) operating under Visual and Instrument Flight Rules. You will be assigned to fly one or two of these aircraft. You will be required to fly specific assigned flight altitudes within the fire environment to assist your government officer with providing aircraft separation over the incident. This role requires you to be away from home on a 12 on, 12 off schedule. This role reports directly to the Air Attack Chief Pilot. The candidate responds well when faced with a quickly changing environment and relies on their excellent judgement to complete the mission safely while following all guidelines.

Salary: Starting wage from $65,000 with annual pay increases

Basic Qualifications:
- Operate aircraft in accordance with the FAR Part 91/135, Standard Operating Procedures and Aircraft Flight Manuals
- Pass a part 135 check ride
- Complete a government carding ride
- Assess the operational environment to ensure that the required mission objectives are met in a safe and efficient manner
- Apply good airmanship, sound pilot decision making and crew resources management skills to ensure that a safe and efficient environment is maintained for both crew and aircraft
- Follow all Company Policy and Procedures
- Ensure compliance as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures and GOM
- Work closely with the Operations Center and regional fire dispatch to maintain a regular flow of information regarding flight requirements, schedules and duty time limitations
- Maintain knowledge and currency of aircraft operating systems, avionics, weather and regulations
- Assist maintenance in with engine runs and aircraft repositions as needed
- Perform ground operations (Fueling, Towing, Operational checks)
- Ensure a positive and professional customer service attitude is maintained
- Ensure all federal regulatory, administrative, financial, and operational documentation is completed accurately without delay
Required Qualifications:
- High level of expertise with PIC decision making skills
- Recent experience and proficiency with IFR flying skills
- FAA ATP or Commercial License: airplane single and multi-engine land and instrument rating
- 1500 Total Time
- 1200 hours PIC
- 200 Category and Class
- 100 PIC airplane within 365 days
- 500 Cross Country
- 200 PIC mountainous terrain
- 100 Night
- 50 IFR Actual
- 75 IFR total
- 25 make and model (not required for hire, but preferred)
- First or Second Class medical certification
- Valid passport
