Position Purpose:
– Operate, adjust, and develop health insurance models. This role will help build technical solutions that augment traditional actuarial work. It is ideal for someone who is looking to develop their technical skills in an actuarial context. Exposure to R, VBA, or other programming languages
In this Actuary role, you will:
• Contribute to pricing of Centene’s individual marketplace product, Ambetter Health.
• Lead the operation of models within the context of specific state markets, including communicating model results to relevant stakeholders.
• Learn about technical aspects of our modeling process and grow into a subject matter expert around specific model functions.
• Develop standalone models for recurring analyses; or, insert integrated sub-models to support the existing processes. This can include analyzing raw data, making technical improvements to existing code, or creating insightful data visualizations.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or in related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of actuarial experience.
License/Certification:
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) (or equivalent international certification); Member of American Academy of Actuaries (or equivalent international membership)
Preferred qualifications:
- Exposure to R, VBA, or other programming languages
*Applicants for this job have the flexibility to work remote from home anywhere in the Continental United States. However, due to the needs of the business, this role must be performed 8 am – 5 pm CST*
