Position Information Job Title Assistant Professor of Management (Business Analytics/Quantitative Methods) Department Management and Marketing – 22350 Pay Grade 1 Job Category Faculty Job Summary The Department of Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position in Management (Business Analytics/Quantitative Methods), beginning in August 2024.

The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate the ability to teach business analytics and other quantitative methods courses and conduct high-quality research. The candidate is also expected to engage in institutional, community, and professional service.

The position is contingent upon sufficient funding.

  • Ability to develop, execute, and maintain an independent, high-quality research agenda
  • Ability to teach both online and in-class advanced business analytics and other quantitative methods courses
  • Commitment to serving the university, college, department, and the professional community

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. or DBA in a related field
  • Effective online and in-class teaching experience in quantitative courses
  • Effective teaching experience in quantitative courses

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong research record as demonstrated through publications in academic journals such as those on the ABDC list and evidence of an ongoing research program/agenda
  • Research interests in the area of decision-making and organizational behavior
  • Committee service, such as with curriculum development and/or programs (e.g., MBA )
  • Research fellowships
  • History collaborating on AACSB accreditation efforts
  • Proficient in analytical tools such as Python and R
