Job Description


Remote – Columbus, OH

8-month contract – 20-30 hours/week

2 – 5+ years of experience


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Journalism, Communications or related field with 2-5 years’ experience in marketing communications or creative department
  • All applications must include writing samples to showcase copy experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong creative thinking skills and ability to think conceptually
  • Comfortable working independently with little direction under tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to demonstrate brand voice
  • Strong strategic thinking and persuasive writing skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Appreciation for the legal limits of marketing to children and families


  • Write copy for variety of channels including email, direct mail, online, and social
  • Understand brand positioning and voice to be able to express message in a compelling, original, elevated, and accessible way
  • Edit and proof work to ensure high editorial standards are met across all content outputs
  • Stay current on trends within editorial sphere
  • Drive the creation of original concepts that result in effective and compelling communication
  • Write clear and error-free content for email and direct mail
