As theDesign Technician, you will beresponsible for the timely and quality execution of assigned design and development tasks to meet the Company’s short term and long-term goals. In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in and assisting with medical device design from concept through full production launch and maintenance in accordance with the Company’s design quality system.

This is a newly created role which will report to the Engineering Services Manager.

What you will be responsible for:

• Design and execution stages of major new products or product enhancements
• Performroutine tasks required to administer and execute product development activities including but not limited to design and execution stages of major new products or product enhancements, Risk Analysis, Prototyping, Design for Mfg. and Design for Inspection, Testing (Protocol creation, Physical Testing, and Test Report generation), Pilot Production, Design reviews, Verification, Validation, and Production.
• Generatedesign history file deliverables for review and approval within an electronic Product Data Management system (SolidWorks PDM preferred)
• Createdesign documents for assigned projects as required by applicable medical device standards and internal procedures.
• Use 3D CAD software for model / print generation and Product Data Management for design documentation (SolidWorks CAD and PDM preferred) for the creation of parametric models that drive the creation of ASME Y14.5 compliant manufacturable prints.
• Work directly with cadaversin surgical situations.

Qualifications

What you will bring to the role:

• High School Diploma or GED. Associates in Mechanical Design preferred.
• Four (4) years of mechanical design experience preferably in the medical device industry
• Experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate in Mechanical Design (CSWA) certification preferred
