Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Programming to lead our Live Events Company in curating, executing and marketing exceptional events and festivals across various domains, including film and television, comedy, food, and fine arts. As the Director of Programming, you will be responsible for overseeing the creative direction, content selection, promotion and overall execution of our diverse portfolio of events, ensuring they are engaging, entertaining, and memorable experiences for our audiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Curation: Collaborate with the executive team to develop an annual event and festival calendar, identifying themes, trends, and potential collaborations that align with our company’s mission and values.
  • Content Selection: Lead the process of sourcing and selecting diverse and high-quality content, including films, TV shows, comedians, culinary experiences, and artistic performances, to create compelling and dynamic programs for each event.
  • Talent and Vendor Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with artists, performers, filmmakers, chefs, and other talent, negotiating contracts and securing their participation in our events. Manage vendor relationships to ensure smooth coordination and execution.
  • Marketing Strategy: Develop innovative marketing strategies for each property, to promote programming and events, maximizing outreach through digital and traditional channels, social media, email campaigns, and partnerships.
  • Digital Presence and Branding: Oversee the company’s online presence, including website maintenance, content updates, and SEO enhancements. Ensure consistent branding across all marketing materials and event communications to reinforce the company’s identity and reputation.
  • Audience Engagement: Work closely with marketing and communications teams to devise strategies that will attract and engage a broad and diverse audience for each event, optimizing attendance and overall event success.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Develop and manage budgets for each event, efficiently allocating resources to maximize event impact and profitability.
  • Event Logistics: Oversee the logistics and operations of each event, ensuring seamless coordination between various teams, venues, and partners to deliver exceptional live experiences.
  • Innovation and Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations in event programming and incorporate them into our event offerings to keep our company at the forefront of the live events industry.
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Foster strategic partnerships and collaborations with relevant industry influencers, organizations, and media outlets to expand the company’s network and reach.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with events, implement necessary safety measures, and ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Post-Event Analysis: Conduct post-event evaluations to assess event success, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Film, Arts, Communications, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in programming and curating live events and festivals across multiple disciplines.
  • Extensive knowledge of the film and television industry, comedy, culinary arts, and fine arts.
  • Strong network of industry contacts and relationships with talent, filmmakers, artists, and comedians.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Passion for live events, creativity, and an eye for curating unique and captivating experiences.
