We are hiring a lead event planners to be the head of our Charleston and Myrtle Beach South Carolina offices. We are looking for eager, driven, and goal-oriented individuals who have a passion for bringing joy to couples, family, friends, and the Event Pro team on an event day! Our goal is to also provide you with industry experience and overall life experience as you learn to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.
Our Lead Planners are the key to overall production on event days. By overseeing production and planning, you will help us carry out our mission and vision, as well as have an opportunity to make a real impact, develop personally and professionally, and learn from people who are experts in their fields.
Hours and Pay:
This would be a full time position. I always tell my staff , those hours can be whatever convenient for you as long as your clients / vendors are taken care of appropriately. Weddings are typically Friday, Saturday (mainly), or Sunday but can vary. An average wedding day can last anywhere from 6-15 hours ( we can also split shifts) often going late into the night! Being the lead of an office, you have the flexibility to decide which events you take and which you don’t.
This job is a good fit for you if:
- Have experience working with an Event Planner , Venue and / or Catering Company.
- You are proficient in Google Drive suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Calendar)
- You are available on weekends as well as some weekdays (most weekday work can be completed in person at our office in Pawleys Island or Virtually)
- You have a positive attitude and are honest and eager to learn and provide white-glove service
- You are an inclusive ally to all , including those in the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC community
- You are able to lift 30-50 pounds at a time and can walk up to 20,000 steps/day if needed
- You like to arrive at places early and pride yourself on being one step ahead
- You can take constructive criticism & direction without taking offense or issue
- You thrive in a fast-paced environments
- You are comfortable delegating to a team.
- Bonus Points if you are familiar working with honeybook, trello, canva and Pinterest.
Personal tools required for the job:
- Regular access to a computer and wifi (both can be provided at our office in Pawleys Island)
- Suitable wedding day attire – business casual black clothing and black, closed-toed shoes
- Reliable coverage and emergency plans for pets, children, or those in your care

Overview of Event Planner Duties (includes but is not limited to):
- Planning and Executing events in Charleston, SC or Myrtle Beach , SC
- Meeting with clients and vendors , taking notes and assisting with making plans for Events
- Creating Timelines ; floorplans etc for clients
- Overseeing with day-of setup, including Wedding Pro management and client decor setup
- Overseeing ceremony and reception setup
- Overseeing VIPs as needed
- Overseeing with providing overall guest direction and flow
- Overseeing with Wedding Pro communication and consistency
- Overseeing with timeline coordination and creation
- Overseeing General troubleshooting
- Overseeing event clean up
- Overseeing with creating & posting social media content
Education and Experience:
The skills of this trade can be taught, and diplomas or certificates are not required. However, preference goes to those having made or are currently making an effort towards those things. 1-2 year experience with an Event Planner , Venue and/ or Catering company is preferred.
