The Role
We are looking for a Marketing Associate – Lifecycle & Retention to help drive Cometeer’s retention strategy on key digital platforms, with an emphasis on the company’s website, email, and SMS presence. In this role, you will work closely with the growth and product team, and you will report directly to our Director of Growth. An ideal candidate will be a self-starter who independently and consistently seeks opportunities to improve retention metrics, generate revenue opportunities, and enhance the customer experience across the board at Cometeer. They also need to be a supportive team player who thrives in a fast-paced, high impact and cross-functional work environment. This is an on-site role based in our Union Square office in NY.
What you’ll do:
Assist in driving retention marketing initiatives from concept to execution in diverse marketing channels
Monitor and optimize core retention programs including referral and loyalty
Prioritize and execute marketing initiatives that increase AOV and LTV from customers
Report on strategies for key marketing decisions based on analytical problem solving, e.g. quantitative and qualitative consumer insights, rigorous testing of different retention strategies, customer experience feedback, demand projections, and cohort health / lifetime value
Identify opportunities for funnel optimization with existing customers, develop roadmaps for implementation, and coordinate execution across the growth and product team
Work closely with ever-updating data to develop decisions and action plans, often in collaboration with other stakeholders
Support go-to-market and acquisition initiatives in partnership with functional partners, especially by offering support on SMS and Email campaigns
Manage any key marketing partners or agencies
What we’re looking for:
2+ yrs experience; subscription experience is a bonus
Strong strategic, analytical thinker with outstanding verbal and written communication skills that support the ability to distill complex information into compelling narratives ("the elevator pitch")
Experience with high performing retention programs
Ability to identify priorities and set departmental deadlines based on a broader understanding of company objectives, leveraging organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset to achieve deliverables
Ability to develop clear, simple structural frameworks to solve analytical problems and manage complex cross-functional projects
Strong background in analytics including customer data, order data, and site performance data—with the expertise to determine a comprehensive strategy and tactical actions based on results
Ability to develop, test, and potentially implement hypotheses based on specific analytical inquiries and strategic objectives
Solution-oriented approach to problem solving that is grounded in data-based decision-making; does not "boil the ocean" to find answers to questions
Understands how to prioritize and tackle problems that vary in size and complexity
Ability to work well independently and in close collaboration with teammates
