Job Description

In the Operations Manager role, the primary responsibilities includes managing all production operations directly related to the department. Manage and lead a team of production department employees including supervisors, leads, temporary agency and full-time associates in the day-to day operations for the client. You will have the responsibility to improve safety, quality, efficiency and cost through both individual and team contributions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of basic OSHA standards & associated programs for EHS.
  • Experience in LEAN and 6-Sigma. Examples include; Daily Management, 5S, SMED, Kaizen, A3 thinking and SPC.
  • Familiarity with shop environment and ability to apply fundamental troubleshooting skills to technical problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, identifies and addresses problems and meets deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide array of personnel to build effective and empowered teams.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Computer skills to include ERP system and Microsoft programs. Must be able to use computer programs to keep track of administrative tasks such as report writing, analysis of work orders, evaluations of product estimates and outputs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to talk with groups of employees as well as strong one-on-one communication skills to facilitate employee engagement.
  • Must be committed to the success of the entire organization.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years’ leading a team in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the plastic bottle industry, or in a manufacturing environment, is preferred
  • Must be “hands-on” and assist/lead in completing department goals as required.
