Department Summary
The Apprentice Program Management (APM) Team is a dynamic group within the client’s Academy that focuses on supporting all lines of business Apprenticeships and training programs to ensure programs remain in compliance with State regulations and internal requirements.
Our client is seeking a team member who can partner with a line of business Field Training Coordinators, IBEW partners, as well as incumbent APM members.
To be successful, you must possess a passion for solving problems, be able to build solid internal and external relationships and have a strong propensity for action, results, and continuous improvement.
Position Summary
The Operations Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all apprentice programs are compliant with all State and Federal regulations as well as operating within labor union agreements.
This could include the Department of Labor, OSHA, Department of Transportation, California Public Utilities Commission, Veterans Administration, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and Nuclear Energy Regulatory Commission.
Job Responsibilities
The Operations Specialist Acts as a liaison between various departments and cross-functional teams
Enter data or information into an electronic database as needed
Analyze and combine information from different sources and use logic to reach an appropriate conclusion
Gather and identify compliance requirements on an informal basis, assessed areas of high compliance risk
Maintain a thorough inventory of all requirements as they apply to each apprentice program and develop action plans as needed to maintain compliance
The Operations Specialist will read, comprehend, and communicate information and ideas through written and verbal communication effectively solve problems
Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals
Ability to interpret relevant labor contracts and agreements
Work with teams to ensure programs function within the scope of labor contracts and agreements
Monitor changes in state/fed regulations and union contracts that affect client’s case and program management processes and notify the appropriate management teams
Audit apprentice training programs to ensure compliance with state/fed regulations and union contract terms by monitoring JATC transactions for both IBEW, DAS, and VA processes
Collaborate with the client’s Academy and the lines of business to update training program content, tools, and processes for compliance with state and fed regulations and union contracts
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field or equivalent experience
Desired:
Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Previous data entry and organizational experience
Experience with compliance requirement maintenance
Experience with union environment and labor agreements
Previous experience working with apprenticeship training programs
Technical training experience within a utility company
Experience working with State and Federal Apprentice agencies
Working knowledge of SAP

The role is virtual but may need to report to client (San Ramon) 1-2 times during the time period.
