Software Quality Assurance Engineer Job in Rochester, NY:

Selected Engineers will need to be able to work onsite in Rochester, NY 2 days a week.

Salary Range: $75,000 -$95,000

Our client has an immediate job opportunity for Software Quality Assurance Engineers to join their team in Rochester, NY testing software solutions to support their revolutionary products

Qualified candidates for this job opportunity will work closely with development Peers, Team Product Owners, and others in Software Quality Assurance to design, develop, and execute both manual and automated test suites.

Responsibilities of the Software Quality Assurance Engineer Job in Rochester, NY:

• Analyze user stories, use cases, and requirements for validity and feasibility. Must have the ability to think outside the normal box. Analytical thinking where the need to see the entire system and how the features will affect the entire system.

• Participate in all agile team ceremonies such as daily stand up, planning sessions, and team retrospectives.

• Provide detailed estimates for all testing tasks related to a user story.

• Collaborate with project team members to develop effective test strategies and plans that include testing at all levels of the technology stack (UI, API, database).

• Execute both manual and automated tests and report results.

• Report bugs and errors to the project team and convey detailed troubleshooting analysis. Having the ability to define what you find and speak openly to what you find is necessary to this role.

• Execute all levels of testing (Functional, Integration, Regression, Post-Release) and more importantly be able to name the “what testing is missing” with why it is needed.

Qualifications of the Software Quality Assurance Engineer Job in Rochester, NY:

• Bachelor’s degree or Combination associates degree Computer engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

• 3 or more years of Software Quality Assurance experience. Role not open to Product Testers at this time.

• Experience working on an Agile Team.

• Working knowledge of XML, JSON, and SQL.

• Passionate about quality, highly motivated, and collaborative.

• Demonstrated ability to learn innovative technologies.

• Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Test Manager, and Visual Studio, or other similar tools.

• Experience working with Windows and Linux operating systems preferred.

• Strong written & verbal communication skills.

• Flexible and open minded with a driven but positive attitude.

• Knowledge of photo file formats and applications preferred.
