Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer for the Next Generation Jammer Program. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s team in Bethpage, NY, an organization focused on development and production of state-of-the-art RF sensor systems solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall System Engineering effort (Lead Systems Engineer) on the Next Generation Jammer(NGJ) DET Program.
Direct the execution and process of all System Engineering activities.
Responsible for the overall technical management of the system specifications and architecture.
Support the main customer Interface for system level specifications and requirements and supports the Chief Engineer and IPT leaders in their interfaces with customer counterparts.
Responsible for horizontal and vertical technical integration across the program and for ensuring the integrity of the SE processes and the associated intermediate work products implemented by the IPTs
Report to the Program Manager all System Engineers (and sometimes the System Integration & Test team) report to the Lead Systems Engineer or SEIT Lead
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 14 years of experience, A Master’s degree with 12 years of experience or a PhD with 9 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics.
U.S Citizenship with an active DoD Secret Clearance
Experience leading technical teams
Experience in RF systems development, integration, and test
Strong systems thinking mindset
Strong communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of earned value management
Strong communication and people leadership skills paired with RF technical expertise are required for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or PhD in STEM
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher
Multiple domain expertise across the electromagnetic spectrum (e.g., radar and electronic warfare)
Work experience and/or exposure to manufacturing
Work experience and/or exposure to Supply Chain Management (Sub-contractors)
Work experience in one or more other engineering functional areas (Hardware, Software, Firmware, Field Engineering,etc.)

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
This position is contingent upon transfer of DoD Secret Clearance

Salary Range: $161,000 USD – $241,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
